Oluwaferanmi Omitoyin

Vice-President (Youth)

Dr. Oluwaferanmi Omitoyin is a medical doctor, researcher, and public health physician. He has worked in health promotion and advocacy for mental health, infectious diseases, and non-communicable diseases. He has worked as a mental health advocate for over seven years. 

Locally, he has coordinated awareness and health advocacy efforts that have reached over 20,000 young people over seven years. In recognition of his commitment to young people in his community, he was recognized in Forbes Magazine as a Gratitude Network Fellow in 2019. Oluwaferanmi served as the Speaker of the University of Ibadan Students’ Union between 2019 and 2021. He is a Board Advisory Member of the Born This Way Foundation (BTWF) and a member of the Global Mental Health Action Network. He has served as a speaker at high-level panel sessions at international mental health conferences. He has also served in various leadership roles in both non-profit and for-profit organizations. 

Oluwaferanmi served as the Vice-President (Youth) of the International Association for Youth Mental Health from 2020 till 2024 when he was re-elected for the position. 

His work focuses on the eradication of stigma and harmful beliefs surrounding mental health, the promotion of good mental health-seeking behaviors, and advocating globally for advances in youth mental health and inclusion.
